Ergonomics
Maybe you’ve already tried sitting on a salon stool with classic castors (like the ones on an office chair), where the stool refuses to roll properly because the wheels are clogged with hair, dust, and other grime. It’s not a great experience – and even less so in a busy salon, where you’re constantly rolling around on the stool. That’s why we’d like to introduce you to Roller wheels: the new standard, developed specifically for hair salons.

The only advantage of classic wheels is that many hairdressers already know them. Some are even used to the chair hardly rolling because the wheels are often clogged. Ironically, for some that’s actually an “advantage”: If the floor slopes slightly, the chair won’t roll away either. But if you look at how things work in a salon, it’s far from ideal. Classic plastic wheels aren’t made for the amounts of hair that land on the floor every day. They quickly become a daily annoyance when you repeatedly have to clean them – or buy new ones.
Roller wheels are made so you can focus on your work instead of wrestling with a salon stool that won’t budge. The hair-repelling cover means that hair and other dirt don’t get into the ball bearing itself, where it normally creates friction and makes the chair “jerk” or lock up.
You don’t have to pick or cut hair out of the wheels.
No static electricity builds up that can attract hair and dust.
Less wear, because you don’t constantly have hair grinding on the ball bearings.
The only thing you need to be aware of is that Roller wheels roll incredibly easily. If your floor is a bit uneven or slanted, you may find that the chair “slides” away when you’re not sitting in it. For most people it’s something you get used to – but it’s still a sign of quality, because it shows just how free the wheels are from hair blockages.
I will always recommend choosing Roller wheels for salon stools – especially in a professional hair salon. They give you:
While classic wheels may feel familiar, they simply aren’t made to handle a salon where hair, dust, and other particles are constantly landing on the floor. Roller wheels, on the other hand, are made for exactly that reality and make sure your chair works as it should – every time. Do you still have a pair of office-chair wheels under your salon stool? Then consider switching to Roller wheels. Once you feel the difference in how easy it is to roll – and how much time and irritation you save – you’ll probably never look back. That’s why we call Roller wheels the new standard in the hairdressing trade.
